BEWARE: Why you should Google yourself!

nicubunu_Denied_Sign.png (1000×1000)

In my marketing class's first assignment to Google myself, I've explored my social network accounts being displayed on Google for the world. When you think about it, the world being able to witness your information can be uncomfortable, without the proper regulation. Before it didn't occur to me the significant value the Internet would contain about myself. If you haven't searched yourself on Google yet, I highly recommend doing so. It should come to your attention to best protect yourself by all means when dealing with the Internet. In any given circumstances you want to be conscious with your actions especially on the Internet. The main reason to keep a good track record of yourself would be that if your applying for a job that definitely applies in this matter. When I Goggled myself, I found an old Twitter account that I haven't accessed in over 3 years and can no longer access. My first reaction to that Twitter account was pure embarrassment because I was young and naive about Twitter. I joined Twitter because of the hype it was producing but not having known the impact that it has been in the social network services outlet. This has further influenced my perception about myself online. It came to a conclusion that everyone should be aware that when you sign up for an account that your monitoring and understanding the terms of the services. Be aware that any social network accounts you have can be private by changing your name or privacy settings. While having control of your own social media accounts your aligning yourself in the way you want to be perceived on the internet. Know your limits by limiting what your providing on the internet. You don't want to make a mistake that would jeopardize your career goals and path. Integrity at its finest is best when taking steps in the right direction.

From when I first looked up my name on Goggle to now, I've developed a better reputation for myself. I still have the embarrassing (exaggerating) Twitter account present on the internet when I search myself on Goggle but I'm more advance and conscious about what I display on the internet from then on. My biggest take away was having the knowledge of the social networks aspects and how to utilize them better. Being able to update yourself adequately and properly will evidently gain the respect you want to overall achieve. My journey with searching myself on Google became a revelation for improvements. I ultimately BEWARE at all times on my social network accounts and so should anyone else!

2 thumbs up in Shay Town's blog!

http://talkofthetowns1.blogspot.com/
1. First, let me point out how impressive her organization skills are! This stood out to me the most and gave me a satisfying first impression. The way she displays her content and pictures literally screams out simple and sweet to me. The pictures she provided on her blog were clean and neatly prompted. Pictures are an automatic attention grabber so what I really liked about her pictures were the amount of pictures she used for her posts. It was not less and not too much either, so thumbs up to a simple amount! It was great that she didn't even add pictures that were obnoxious. When there's obscure or an excessive amount of pictures, I tend to get overwhelmed and it doesn't appeal in my interest to further grasp the content. Even if the content were well constructed I'll move to something more ordinary/common for that matter. Another thing that can detract my interest with certain blog sites is the background. While in Shay Town's blog, the background she choose shows me her style which I can attend to. Being a female and seeing a pink-peach colored background is a welcoming factor that I can absolutely respect. It really helps that her background adds a flare of sweetness that reminds me of a settle garden of pink roses (which any female would love!). My complete outlook on her format is purely simple tones that doesn't go unjust.

2. Second, Shay Town's blog has posts genuine details in her content that I could gravitate to right away. I found her content compelling and interesting. I felt like within every post she was giving me personal trustworthy advice. Her post number one convinced me to check out J's Everyday Fashion because I, myself love fashion. That definitely earned brownie points with me so that was very sweet of Shay to share! Besides that post, her other posts incorporated enjoyable factors in a blog content that made it compelling. There are a lot of blogs that pertain to complex and boring content which she has not include. Sometimes facts can be general but I found reading her style of posts with personality. I like that her content is concise and not overwhelming to read (as suppose to mine). Any reader can truly appreciate that, so thanks for the simple insights Shay!

Overall, I truly enjoyed Shay Town's blog because she portrays a simple and sweet criteria of work into her blog. Thank you Shay for reminding myself to K.I.S.S (keep it simple stupid) my blog. We should all give it a try! If you check out her blog, http://talkofthetowns1.blogspot.com, you'll be giving 2 thumbs up too!!

Online shopping privacy guilt.

Am I partaking in guilt or pleasure when it comes to construeonline offers? Well reading the article "61% of Online Shoppers Would Trade Privacy for Personalization [INFOGRAPHIC]from Mashable.com has brought to my attention the affects and effects to being an online consumer.
http://recommender.strands.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/small.jpg
I'm currently an addict for online shopping ever since moving to ChicagoOnline shopping provides convenience. My current favorite online store is eBay, since being a regular customer, eBay has been notifying me with daily deals and suggestions for my next purchaseAlthough, it's gotten to the point where its getting annoying yet appealing at the same time. My shopping privacy seems to be invaded on an obnoxious level. On the other hand, I can tolerate the obnoxiousness due to the article. I agreed with most of the reasons that were pointed in the article and therefor I'm guilty on having personalization rather than privacy. The bottom line with personalization is simply to say that as an online consumer, I have basic terms in which a business deal should accommodate to in trade-off for my personal information.
